In 2010, Rick Reilly (a sportswriter for ESPN) released a book titled “Sports from Hell: My Search for the World’s Most Outrageous Competition.” In that book, Reilly listed the popular European sport Ferret Legging as one of the world’s most outrageous sports. Ferret Legging is a sport that tests how long competitors will be able to keep a ferret in their trousers before giving up. Currently, the world record for ferret legging is five hours and thirty minutes; it is shared by Europeans Frank Bartlett and Christine Farnsworth. This sport gained popularity in the 1970s amongst coal miners in Yorkshire, England. Also during this time, ferrets started to become popular domestic pets around the United States. Today, ferrets are the third most popular domestic pet, only behind cats and dogs. If you are an owner of one of these wildly popular animals, it is important that you know how to feed and cage your ferret, and here at Pet Street Mall, we have all of the information and product reviews that ferret owners will need.
